About us
Rooted in Busoga. Driven by community.

Chazon Opportunities Centre Uganda (COCU-Uganda) is a registered not-for-profit organisation founded in 2024 and headquartered in Bugiri Municipality, Busoga Region, Eastern Uganda.

The name Chazon comes from the Hebrew word for "vision", reflecting our belief that lasting change begins with a clear and hopeful vision for every person we serve.

We work alongside communities, local governments, and civil society to address poverty, inequality, and environmental vulnerability across all 11 districts of Busoga.

Our programmes address the interconnected challenges facing Busoga, from food security and education to gender rights and digital inclusion, through community-led, sustainable approaches.

Education, Health and Wellbeing

Removing barriers to education, improving WASH in schools, and ensuring every child, especially girls, learns in a safe and healthy environment.

Economic Empowerment and Livelihoods

Vocational skills training, computer literacy for girls, and youth entrepreneurship to build dignified and sustainable livelihoods.

Environment, Food Security and Sport

Climate-smart agriculture, environmental education, gender rights, and sport for development to build resilient communities.
